Alice Shoemaker, 94, died March 13, 2014, in McGehee.
She was born February 11, 1920, in the Mount Zion Community to Edward and Fannie Ridgell.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Shoemaker; siblings, Willie Estelle, and Nettie Jean Ridgell Simpson; two children, Wallace Ridgell and Roy Cleveland R.C. Edwards; one granddaughter, Linda A. Ridgell.
She is survived by one brother-in-law, A.W. Simpson; one grandson, Reginald Ridgell (Patricia); one granddaughter, Andrea Ridgell; three great grandchildren; and a host of nephews, nieces, great nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
Funeral service were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 15, 2014, at Mt. Zion A.M.E Church in Monticello. Burial will follow in Mt. Zion Cemetery under the arrangements of Stephenson-Dearman Funeral Home.
