Charles Louis “Pop” Dalsis Sr.

Charles Louis “Pop” Dalsis Sr., 83, of Collins, passed away Thursday, November 20, 2014, at Dermott City Nursing Home in Dermott.

He was born on June 24, 1931, in Scottsville, N.Y., to the late Edward and Caroline Hartness Dalsis. He served in the United States Army, worked for Burlington Industries for 25 years before retiring and was the Assistant Fire Chief for the Collins-Cominto Fire Department from 1988-2004. He loved to hunt, fish and work in his garden and was a member of Cominto Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Katherine Humphrey Dalsis; son, Charles Dalsis Jr., of Collins; sisters, Rene Houk and husband, Don, of Scottsville, N.Y. and Norma Richards and husband, Tom, of Scottsville, N.Y.; grandchildren, Carlton Dalsis and wife, Glenda, of Dermott, and Darian Dalsis Sr. and wife, Crystal, of Collins; great grandchildren, Cody Dalsis, of McGehee, Elizabeth Dalsis, of McGehee, Darian Dalsis Jr., of Collins, and Dylan Dalsis, of Collins.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, November 22, 2014, at Cominto Baptist Church in Cominto with Rev. Zan Pierce and Rev. Joe Chambers officiating. Burial followed in Rash Cemetery in Drew County under the direction of Griffin-Culpepper Funeral Service of McGehee.
