Dale Douglass Sr.
Dale Douglass Sr. age 73 of Johnsville died Tuesday, June 18, 2013, at his home.
He was born July 12, 1939, in Johnsville, a son of the late Oscar Mason Douglass and Jewell Martin Dougalss. He was the owner and operator of DD Auto Sales, former employee of Georgia Pacific as a truck driver, a logger and a farmer. He was a member of the Palestine United Methodist Church.
Also preceding him in death was his wife Betty Lou Douglass; a son Dale Douglass Jr.; brothers Jerry Douglass and Sam Bob Douglass; and a sister, Reba Shirley.
Survivors include a son Don Douglass and spouse Sissy, of Johnsville; a special companion Betty Rial, of Johnsville; six grandchildren, Jessica Hill and spouse Daniel, of Crossett, Nichole Thomas and spouse Chris, of Johnsville, Michelle Douglass, of Warren, Wally Douglass, of Thornton, Brittany Colvin and spouse Brandon, of Camden, and Stephen Baker, of Virginia Beach, Va.; five great-grandchildren, Joseph Thomas, Christopher Thomas, Maggie Hill, Joey Hill and Ella Colvin. He is also survived by Betty’s children and grandchildren, Chris Beard and spouse Amber, of Star City, and Shelly Wooten and spouse Tom, of Monticello, Devin, Coby, Zack and Tracy Beard and Dillon and Kelsey Wooten.
Funeral services were held on Friday, June 21, 2013, at Frazer’s Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Wayman Mann and Rev. Charles Cauley officiating. Linda Barrett was organist. Burial followed in Palestine Cemetery.
Active pallbearers were Reggie Hargis, Clay Lowry, Danny Raney, Tommy Ferrell, Scotty Sloan, Scotty Ferrell and Dewayne Godfrey. Honorary pallbearers were Gifford Godfrey, Jerry Pinson, Donny Ray Lowry, Sonny Rainey, Kenneth Ferrell, Carroll Gene Temple, Charles Edward Ferrell, Allen Ferrell, Otha Temple, Benny Lowry and Charly Post.
