Judge Robert Akin is in Little Rock this week attending the annual summer conference of the Association of Arkansas Counties.

Road Department Activity

Monday - SB2 was hauled to Pumpkin Center, Old Warren and Florence roads. B stone was hauled to Pleasant Springs Road. Soft spots were dug out and repaired on Florence Road, and the debris was hauled off. A pipe was taken to Pumpkin Center Road. A dozer was moved and limbs were cut on Rabb Road. Barkada Road was patched. Graders were moved and a pipe was inspected on Midway Route. A portion of Collins Line Road was bladed. Following the heavy rain, a number of ditches and culverts were checked.

Tuesday - Trees were removed from Collins Line Road and it was double-bladed. Florence Road was bladed and more soft spots were dug out and filled with SB2. Barkada, Sullivan, Wilmar Loop, Sanderlin, Drew Co. 133, Stafford, Rock Springs, Plantersville and West Mt. Zion roads were patched. One pipe was installed on Pumpkin Center Road and others were repaired on Old Warren and Pleasant Springs roads. A washout was fixed on South Wilmar Road. More limbs were cut on Rabb and East Mt. Zion roads. SB2 was hauled to Florence Road and debris from digging out the soft spots was hauled away.

Wednesday - More work was done on Florence Road, with soft spots being dug out and debris hauled away. SB2 was hauled there and spread. Ozment Bluff Landing, Mhoon, Huskey Trail and Scroughout roads were bladed and Ellis White Road was double-bladed. Limbs were cut on East Mt. Zion and Bill Henry roads.

Thursday - Maintenance work was done on equipment. The digging out of soft spots and refilling them with SB2 continued on Florence Road, as well as limb-cutting on Bill Henry and Garnett roads.

Friday - Gee’s Landing Road was double-bladed. James Glennon, Ben Loveless, Smith, Connie Veasey, Calhoun, James Brown, Hunger Run, Tennessee Spur, Deeper Green, Lambert, Ethridge and Heritage roads were bladed. Wilson Mill, Midway Route, Lone Sassafras, McManus, Deal, Deal Lane, Ladelle, State School, Valley Junction, Goose Hollow, Bordeaux and streets in Ladelle were patched. SB2 was hauled from Pine Bluff to the shop and to Noah Lane. Soft spots were dug out on Bordeaux Road and filled with SB2. Work was done on the pad behind the shop. A dump trailer was picked up in Little Rock. Limbs were cut on Garnett Road.
