Emma Griffin West
Emma Griffin West, 83, of Wilmar passed away, Wednesday, January 22, 2014, at Bradley County Medical Center in Warren.
She was born on May 25, 1930, to the late Jesse Griffin and Annie Pearl Burkhart Griffin.
She was retired from Burlington and was a member of Wilmar United Methodist Church.
She was also preceded in death by her husband L.C. “Buddy” West; four brothers, J.C. Griffin, Sonny Griffin, Bill Griffin, and Nathan Griffin; and one sister, Lucille Davis.
Survivors include three sons, Mike West, of Wilmar, Ricky West and wife, Annette, of Warren, and Mark West and wife, Deborah, of Wilmar; three sisters, Francis Wade, of Vermont, Betty Jo Reddin and Mary Lynn Temple, both of Wilmar; seven grandchildren, Jennifer Boren, Maranda McEntire, Kacie Wallace, Kristi Scott, Timmy West, Tabatha Quillen and Matt West; 16 great grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.
Funeral Service were held at 1 p.m., Saturday, January 25, 2014, at Stephenson-Dearman Chapel with Rev. Waymon Mann and Rev. Hardy Peacock officiating. Burial followed in Wilmar Cemetery. Active pallbearers were Norman Word, Wayne Adcock, Matt West, Timmy West, Kyler West, Kyler Johnson, Doug Temple, Dale Reddin and Tommy Davis. Honorary pallbearers were Ed Temple, Bubba Wright, Gerald Calhoun, Danny Burnett, Jody Jester, Jeff Jester, Scott Temple and Jerry Davis.
