G.D. Stedman, age 93, of Magnolia died Friday, September 20, 2013, at home.
Born December 14, 1919, in Bradley County, a son of the late Norman E. Stedman and Gennie Rogers Stedman, he was a retired truck driver for Potlatch Corporation, a World War II Army veteran and member Trinity Methodist Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife Rebecca “Reba” Harcrow Stedman on September 24, 2011; brothers, Lathan Stedman and Kenneth Stedman; and a sister Pat Ashcraft.
He is survived by one son, David Stedman and spouse, Regina, Magnolia, two brothers, Ben Gene Smith, of Crossett, and Barnard Smith, of Warren; one sister, Marilyn Ashcraft, of Warren; two grandchildren, John Stedman and spouse, Florencia, of Yoakum, Texas, and Carol Stacy, of Texarkana; and seven great-grandchildren.
Graveside services were held at 4 p.m. Sunday, September 22, 2013, at McFarland Cemetery in Banks, with Rev. Wayman Mann officiating. Active pallbearers were John George, DuWayne George, Grady Laster, Fernando Espitia, Mike Ashcraft and Jerry Ashcraft.
