Golf tournament added to annual crawfish boil
For the first time this year, the Junior Auxiliary of Monticello’s annual crawfish dinner and auction will include an 18-hole golf tournament. The event, now known as “Bugs and Clubs,” will be held at the Monticello Country Club on Saturday, May 16.
Persons interested in playing in the mixed four-person scramble are encouraged to sign up as soon as possible, because only the first 20 teams of four persons will be accepted. The deadline for entry is April 30. Cash prizes will be awarded.
Fees are $300 per team, and include crawfish for participants. Tee-off time will be 1 p.m.
Other contests to be held that day include:
• Chipping contest - starts at noon on Hole #2, will cost $5 for three balls
• Mulligans - $5 can buy two per player - one for the front 9 and one for the back
• Double or Nothing - Hole #4, bets no more than $20
The crawfish boil that evening we feature a silent and live auction and a DJ. All proceeds will be used to buy school supplies and Christmas for the needy children of Drew County.
