Marvin Mitchell “Bill” Mhoon
Marvin Mitchell “Bill” Mhoon, 80, of Monticello passed away Monday, January 11, 2016 at Drew Memorial Hospital in Monticello. He was born January 1, 1936 in Monticello to the late Carl Mitchell Mhoon and Gracie Leona Scogin Mhoon.
He retired from Burlington Industries as a supervisor in shipping and receiving, was a substitute rural mail carrier and was of the Baptist faith.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by one son, Mitchell Mhoon; one brother, Robert Mhoon; and one sister, Novella Blasingame.
Survivors include his wife, Marilyn Wilson Mhoon of Monticello; one son, Robert Allen Mhoon of Little Rock; two daughters, Faye Mhoon of Chatsworth, Ga. and Kaye Whitener (Jeff) of Nashville, Tenn.; two stepsons, Neal Wilson (Missy) of Monticello and Lance Wilson (Mandy) of Benton; grandchildren, Shawn Stevens (Chelsee), Mallary Dokke (Ryan) and Jared Whitener (Lindsey), all of Nashville, Tenn Rowdy Hall (AmyJo) of California, Alanta Cross (D.J.) of Columbus, Ga., Amber Davis (Delon) of Arizona, Jackey Hall of Chatsworth, Ga., Justin Mhoon of Georgia, Lila Tre, Archer, Scarlett and Levi; a niece, Maurene Henry of Monticello; and a nephew, David Blasingame of St. Louis.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, January 13, 2016 at Stephenson-Dearman Chapel. Burial will be at Oakland Cemetery in Monticello. Visitation will be held from 1 p.m. until service time Wednesday.
