MHS drama students to present 'Mixed Nuts'

The Monticello High School Drama II class will present the comedy "Mixed Nuts" Friday and Saturday, April 24 and 25, at the Monticello Middle School Auditorium.  The doors will open at 6:30 p.m. and the show will begin at 7. Tickets are $4 for students, $6 for adults. The story takes place in New York during the summer of 1984. The main character is trying to become a writer and “find himself,” according to MHS drama teacher Christy Armbrust. “What he finds is a whirlwind of lively characters all under one roof.  Among this assortment is the hero’s not-always-helpful alter-ego who appears on stage to complicate life and enliven an already crazy situation.” The cast features Lashanda Thurman, Patrick Thomas, Chelsea Jones, Noah Mitchell, Amber Byrd, Jennifer Manes, Emily Hilton and Sarah De Rueda. The backstage crew consists of Brittney Martin, Brittany Sloan, Sharquila Thurman, and Ladarius Williams. The show is directed by Armbrust.  “We would love to have great support from the community for our students,” Armbrust said. For more information, contact Brittney Martin at 723-7783 or Christy Armbrust at 308-1124.
