Mike Brown, 60, of Strong, passed away Thursday, February 13, 2014, at the St. Vincent’s Infirmary Center, in Little Rock.
He was born October 5, 1953, in Warren, to Ruby Barrett Brown and the late Larkin Brown.
He was a high school coach and teacher and was of the Baptist faith. He was an avid reader, loved fishing and history, was an excellent cook and loved a good political argument. Mike was a very quiet person who dearly loved his family and friends.
Survivors include his mother, Ruby Barrett Brown, of Monticello; one brother, Bruce Brown and wife, Lisa, of Monticello; one sister, Cherie Brown, of Monticello; one nephew, Barrett Brown and finance, Meri Whitney Zieman; one niece, Rachel Kellum and husband, John David, of Monticello; and a special friend, Mary Claire Smith.
Funeral Service were held at 11 am Monday, February 17, 2014, at Stephenson-Dearman Chapel with Rev. Bruce Venable officiating. Burial will follow in Oakland Cemetery in Warren. Active pallbearers were Bill Neikirk, Steve Calloway, Patrick Russell, Steve Strahn, Peter Poole, Tommy Smith, Greg Tiner and Phillip Farmer. The honorary pallbearer was Bill Floyd.
