Myrtis Marie Brantley Thurman, 64, of Pine Bluff, died Friday, December 1, 2006, at St. Vincent Doctor's Hospital - Arkansas Hospice in Little Rock.
Born March 14, 1942, in Monticello, she was a daughter of the late William "Will" Brantley and Appie Dorothy Griffith Brantley.
She earned a bachelor's degree in accounting from the University of Arkansas at Monticello and worked as an accountant for the state of Arkansas. She was a member of Family Church in White Hall.
She was preceded in death by a brother, William Brantley; and a sister, Mary Craddock.
Survivors include a son, Michael DeWayne Thurman of Little Rock; a daughter, Dorothy Yvonne Picket of Pine Bluff; four sisters, Verdell Halsey and Kathleen Rawls, both of Monticello, Deana Corder of Little Rock, and Elsie Wells of Tillar; a brother, Homer Brantley of Shattuck, Okla.; six grandchildren, Bryce Thurman, Ashley Thurman, Hunter Thurman, Chason Thurman, Alicia Davis and Brad Bonner; and two great-grandchildren, Alex Davis and Austin Bonner.
Funeral services were held December 4 at Family Church with the Revs. Bill Fitzhugh and Tony Lawhon officiating. Burial was at Union Ridge Cemetery in Monticello with arrangements by Ralph Robinson & Son Funeral Directors.
