Rose R. Noles Hampton

Rose R. Noles Hampton, 86, went home to the arms of Jesus on March 14, 2013.<br /> Born in Hot Springs, to Lillie and Dewey Noles, she is preceded in death by her parents, three brothers; Harley, Charles “Choc”, and Louie and one sister Lenis Pennington; three grandsons, Michael Roy Hampton and the Hampton twins.<br /> Rose is survived by her husband of 68 years, William H. (Bill) Hampton, a daughter, Billie June (James Shelly) Handly; two sons, Mike (Becky) Hampton of Brandon, Miss., and Richard (Lee Ann) Hampton, of Texarkana; six grandchildren; ten great grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.<br /> Rose was baptized and a life-long member of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.<br /> Rose was a telephone switchboard operator in the 1950’s who turned the lights out when DeQueen switched to dial tone. She worked for the city of Monticello in the Water Department and then Ark-La Gas Company before owning and operating the Monticello Florist for many years.<br /> An artist in oils and other media, Rose turned her talent for cake decorating into a full service wedding business.<br /> A Celebration of Rose’s life was held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, March 17, 2013, at Davis-Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Hot Springs with Elder Lee Floyd and Elder OJ Smith officiating. Internment followed in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery.<br /> Pallbearers were William Spears, Chris Rowland, Keith Rowland, Jason Langston, Jeff Langston, Gene George, Kevin Rowland and Allen Hampton.<br /> A guest registry may be viewed and signed at
