MSD board approves new HS principal
At last night’s Monticello School District School Board meeting—the fi nal one of this school year—the board approved the new personel sheet for the 2017-2018 school year.
Monticello High School Assistant Principal Susan White was named as next year’s High School Principal.
“I am excited to have the opportunity to be Monticello High School’s next principal and to continue the positive direction this district has maintained over the years,” White said. “I look forward to another rewarding year with the students at MHS.
“As much as I enjoy working with the professionals on the staff who are passionate about and committed to our students, it’s the students themselves who provide blessings in my life. There simply is nothing more invigorating than to connect with a student in a way that changes that student’s life.”
Judy Holaway is the current high school principal.
“It is my pleasure that the Monticello School Board approved my recommendation to hire Ms. Susan White as the MHS principal,” MSD Superintendent Sandra Lanehart said. “Ms. White is a master educator and administrator who brings years of experience as a principal.”
In other business, the board honored the MHS choir and choir director Bennie Vincent, assisted by state Sen. Eddie Cheatham. The MHS Madrigals performed as well.
The next board meeting was set for June 20.
