Ira Carroll Lagrone
Ira Carroll Lagrone, 75, of Monticello passed away Tuesday, October 17, 2017 at his home. He was born October 26, 1941 in Monticello to the late Ira Lagrone and Ruby Stevers Lagrone.
He was a retired shipping clerk for Georgia Pacific, cattle farmer, United States Army Veteran and was a Christian and member of North Side Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by twin sons Terry and Thomas Carroll Lagrone.
Carroll was an avid outdoorsman, enjoyed fishing, hunting and raising cattle. He loved his family, always putting them first. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and enjoyed so much his first great-grandson, Stone.
Survivors include his wife, Rhea Allison Lagrone of Monticello; one stepson, Donnie (Lorie) Kulbeth of Conway; one stepdaughter, Debbie (Dean) Stone of Stuttgart; one daughter, Ramona Martin of Paragould; one brother, Raymond Lagrone of Spokane, Wash.; three step-grandsons, Christopher Stone of Stuttgart, Matt Kulbeth and Zach Kulbeth of Conway; one step-granddaughter, Allison (Spencer) Tarkington of Almyra; two grandsons, Josh Barnhill and Ethan Barnhill of Paragould; and one great-grandson, Stone Tarkington of Almyra.
Funeral services were at 10 a.m. Friday, October 20, 2017 at Stephenson-Dearman Chapel with burial following Union Ridge Cemetery with military honors. Visitation was from 6-8 p.m. Thursday evening at the funeral home.
