Kelley D. Grubbs
Kelley D. Grubbs, 88, of Monticello passed away Monday, January 14, 2019, at Drew Memorial Health System. He was born December 28, 1930, in the Possum Valley community to the late Nat Grubbs and Ida Bell Knowles Grubbs.
He was a self-employed businessman, United States Air Force Veteran and a member of the First United Methodist Church.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Rose Curry Grubbs; a granddaughter, Madeline Grubbs; three brothers, Travis, Russell and Keith Grubbs; and two sisters, Carolyn Grubbs Hancock and Amine Grubbs Deal.
Survivors include one daughter, Roselyn (Bill) Busby of Monticello; one son, Nat (Traci) Grubbs of Monticello; one brother, Calvin (Audie Mae) Grubbs of Garland, Texas; four grandchildren, Kelli Busby (Collin) Chandler of The Woodlands, Texas, William (Katelyn) Busby of Monticello, Meredith Grubbs (Philip) McKelvy of Little Rock and Emily Grubbs of Starkville, Miss.; and four great-grandchildren, Rory, Rose and Elizabeth Jane Chandler, and Henry Busby. He also enjoyed the dear friendship of Ms. Jane Thomasson.
He spent most of his 88 years doing work, telling tales and cracking jokes. He will be missed! Memorials may be made to Monticello First United Methodist Church.
Funeral services were Thursday, Jan. 17, 2019 at First United Methodist Church with burial following in Oakland Cemetery. Family visitation was one hour preceding the service. Arrangements were by Stephenson-Dearman Funeral Home.
