Martha Graves Kirby
Martha Graves Kirby, wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, began her life on April 4, 1942 in Hamburg.
On May 27, 1960, her parents, Horace and Nadine Handley, gave Martha in marriage to Ted Kirby Sr.
Martha and Ted resided in Fountain Hill until 1967, where Martha was a homemaker and piano teacher. Thier children—Sandy (Mike) Morman, Ted Kirby Jr. and Mandy (Doug) Meador—were born in nearby Monticello.
Martha later taught music in the Prescott (AR) School District and Ted and Martha retired to the Texarkana area in 1994.
Martha, “Mimi,” was the proud grandmother of Gabe (Kim), Abby (Ken), Max (Christina), Kenzie, Laura, Kirby, Ben and Grace. She was also the joyful great grandmother of Kash, Connor, Kendall, Collin, Kage, Kort and Collier and sister-in-law to Glenda and Frank Wright.
Martha was a Proverbs 31 (10-31) woman in every sense of the word, and she will be greatly missed!
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Monday, December 12, 2016 at the Chapelwood Funeral Home Chapel in Nash, Texas with burial in Chapelwood Memorial Gardens.
“What a matinee my Lord has given me, of the final glory, I can’t see.”
