Vinegar Hill

Come unto me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

Mae Cavaness and Mozella Wimbley attended the celebration of marriage of Marvin Ashford and Rosetta Racy at Union Chapel MBC in Dumas. Rev. Isom Cross Jr. is pastor. The wedding was a beautiful occasion. Their colors were wine and white. The bride's family came from Las Vegas. Marvin's sister, Gayle Burks, attended from Atlanta, Ga. Many of Marvin's friends from Monticello and Selma attended. The reception was held at the Dumas Community Center, which was decorated in their chosen colors. The bride's cake was wine and white, and hors d'ouevres and punch were served. The occasion was enjoyed by all.

Sorry to hear of the passing of Carl Lee Green and Jewel Cobb. Carl Lee Green was the brother of Eula Mae Daniel.

Mozella Wimbley and Mae Cavaness attended church at Kennedy Boulevard Church of Christ, where Bro. Charlie Vincent is the minister. The service was very spiritual. The sermon was taken from Acts 4:31-33, and the subject was "Shake Before You Use."

Mae Francis Collins, Onnie Lee Daniel and Rev. Wade Everett visited Mae Cavaness, and she enjoyed their visit.

Mae Cavaness talked by phone with Bessie Miller of Longview and Monnell Jordan.

Mae Cavaness' great-grandson, Damarion Davis, will be having heart surgery at Children's Hospital in Little Rock. Please remember us in your prayers.

Reggie Williams and friend visited Mae Cavaness.

Hope everyone has a blessed week.
